To calculate the 3D Print Time ( $T$ ):

$T = \left(\frac{W}{B}\right) \times \left(\frac{D}{S}\right) \times \left(\frac{H}{S}\right)$

Where:

$T$ is the total time (min)
$W$ is the width of the part (mm)
$B$ is the build speed (mm/min)
$D$ is the depth of the build (mm)
$S$ is the filament size (mm)
$H$ is the height of the part (mm)

What is 3D Print Time?

A 3D Print time is defined as the total time it takes for a 3D print to complete a job, not including cooling time. The time it takes is dependent on the part size, part resolution, and build speed.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Width of the Part ( $W$ ) = 100 mm
Build Speed ( $B$ ) = 50 mm/min
Depth of the Build ( $D$ ) = 50 mm
Filament Size ( $S$ ) = 0.4 mm
Height of the Part ( $H$ ) = 100 mm

Using the formula:

$T = \left(\frac{100}{50}\right) \times \left(\frac{50}{0.4}\right) \times \left(\frac{100}{0.4}\right) = 2 \times 125 \times 250 = 62500 \text{ minutes}$

The total 3D print time is 62500 minutes.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Width of the Part ( $W$ ) = 200 mm
Build Speed ( $B$ ) = 100 mm/min
Depth of the Build ( $D$ ) = 100 mm
Filament Size ( $S$ ) = 0.5 mm
Height of the Part ( $H$ ) = 200 mm

Using the formula:

$T = \left(\frac{200}{100}\right) \times \left(\frac{100}{0.5}\right) \times \left(\frac{200}{0.5}\right) = 2 \times 200 \times 400 = 160000 \text{ minutes}$

The total 3D print time is 160000 minutes.
