Enter Average Glucose Level

Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the A1C level from average blood glucose level:

\[ \text{A1C} = \frac{\text{AG} + 46.7}{28.7} \]

Variables:

\(\text{A1C}\) is the estimated Average Glucose level (%)

\(\text{AG}\) is the Average Glucose level (mg/dL)

What is the Average Glucose To A1C?

Average Glucose to A1C is a measure used to determine a person’s average blood glucose levels over a period of two to three months. The A1C test, also known as the HbA1c, glycated hemoglobin, or glycohemoglobin test, is an important tool in managing diabetes. It reflects the average blood sugar levels by measuring the percentage of hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells, that is coated with sugar. The higher the A1C level, the poorer the blood sugar control and the higher the risk of diabetes complications.

Example Calculation

Let's say we have the following details:

Average Glucose Level (AG): 150 mg/dL

First, we add 46.7 to the average glucose level:

\[ 150 + 46.7 = 196.7 \]

Next, we divide the result by 28.7:

\[ \text{A1C} = \frac{196.7}{28.7} = 6.85\% \]

Therefore, the estimated A1C level is 6.85%.
