The formula to calculate the BIMS score is:

\[ \text{BIMS} = \text{O} + \text{R} + \text{A} + \text{RC} \]

Where:

\(\text{O}\) is the score for orientation (0-2 points)
\(\text{R}\) is the score for registration (0-1 points)
\(\text{A}\) is the score for attention (0-1 points)
\(\text{RC}\) is the score for recall (0-2 points)

What is a BIMS Score?

The BIMS score ranges from 0 to 15, with higher scores indicating better cognitive function. It is used by healthcare professionals to identify changes in cognitive status over time and to plan appropriate care.

Let's assume the following values:

Orientation Score = 2
Registration Score = 1
Attention Score = 1
Recall Score = 2

Using the formula:

\[ \text{BIMS} = 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 6 \]

The BIMS score is 6.

Let's assume the following values:
