Calculate Brace Height

Formula

To calculate the Brace Height (\(BH\)):

For Recurve Bow:

\[ BH = \frac{ATA}{8} \]

For Compound Bow:

\[ BH = \frac{ATA}{10} \]

For Longbow:

\[ BH = \frac{ATA}{7} \]

What is Brace Height?

Brace height is the distance from the deepest part of the bow's grip to the string. It is an important measurement for archers as it affects the performance and feel of the bow. A proper brace height can improve accuracy, reduce vibration, and increase comfort during shooting.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values for a Recurve Bow:

Using the formula:

\[ BH = \frac{48}{8} = 6 \text{ inches} \]

The Brace Height is 6 inches.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values for a Compound Bow:

Using the formula:

\[ BH = \frac{40}{10} = 4 \text{ inches} \]

The Brace Height is 4 inches.
