The formula to calculate Freezing Ratio (X) is:
\[ X = \frac{SACasting \cdot VR}{SARiser \cdot VC} \]
Freezing Ratio of the mould is defined as the ratio of cooling characteristics of casting to the riser. Surface Area Of Casting is the surface area of liquid metal undergoing casting. Volume Riser is the volume of liquid metal fed into the riser during the process of casting. Surface Area Riser is the surface area of the liquid fed into the riser during the process of metal casting. Volume of Casting is the volume of liquid metal undergoing casting.
Let's assume the following values:
Using the formula:
\[ X = \frac{1.5 \cdot 0.5}{0.4 \cdot 1.25} \approx 1.5 \]
The Freezing Ratio is approximately 1.5.
Surface Area of Casting (Square Meter) | Volume Riser (Cubic Meter) | Surface Area of Riser (Square Meter) | Volume of Casting (Cubic Meter) | Freezing Ratio |
---|---|---|---|---|
1.4 | 0.5 | 0.4 | 1.25 | 1.400000000000000 |
1.5 | 0.5 | 0.4 | 1.25 | 1.500000000000000 |
1.6 | 0.5 | 0.4 | 1.25 | 1.600000000000000 |
