Calculate Required Combustion Air

Formula

The formula to calculate the required combustion air (CA) is:

\[ CA = \frac{V \cdot A \cdot T}{P \cdot R \cdot Z} \]

Where:

Example

Let's say the volume of the combustion process (V) is 2 m³, the air-to-fuel ratio (A) is 15, the temperature of the combustion process (T) is 1000 K, the pressure of the combustion process (P) is 101325 Pa, the gas constant (R) is 287 J/kg·K, and the compressibility factor (Z) is 1. Using the formula:

\[ CA = \frac{2 \cdot 15 \cdot 1000}{101325 \cdot 287 \cdot 1} \]

We get:

\[ CA \approx 0.00104 \, \text{m³} \]

So, the required combustion air is approximately 0.00104 m³.
