Formula

The formula to calculate the Combustion Efficiency (Ecombustion) is:

\[ Ecombustion = \frac{CO2}{CO2 + CO} \times 100 \]

Where:

Combustion Efficiency (Ecombustion): The efficiency of the combustion process, expressed as a percentage.
Concentration of CO2: The amount of carbon dioxide present in the exhaust gases, measured in parts per million by volume (ppmv).
Concentration of CO: The amount of carbon monoxide present in the exhaust gases, measured in parts per million by volume (ppmv).

Let's say the concentration of CO2 is 1500 ppmv and the concentration of CO is 50 ppmv. Using the formula:

\[ Ecombustion = \frac{1500}{1500 + 50} \times 100 \]

We get:

\[ Ecombustion = \frac{1500}{1550} \times 100 \approx 96.77\% \]

So, the combustion efficiency is approximately 96.77%.
