Where:

What is Dilution Ratio?

The dilution ratio is the ratio of the volume of solute to the volume of solvent. It is used to determine how much solute and solvent are needed to achieve a desired concentration.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Solute Volume = 50 mL
Solvent Volume = 150 mL

Using the formula:

\[ DR = \frac{150}{50} = 3.00 \]

The dilution ratio is 1:3.00.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Solute Volume = 30 mL
Solvent Volume = 90 mL

Using the formula:

\[ DR = \frac{90}{30} = 3.00 \]

The dilution ratio is 1:3.00.
