To calculate the Gait Velocity (GV):

\[ GV = \frac{D}{T} \]

Where:

\(GV\) is the Gait Velocity (ft/s)
\(D\) is the Total Distance Traveled (ft)
\(T\) is the Total Time of Walking (seconds)

What is Gait Velocity?

Gait velocity is a measure of a person's total rate of movement during their normal gait. It is calculated by dividing the gait distance by the time of the gait.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Total Distance Traveled (D) = 100 ft
Total Time of Walking (T) = 20 seconds

Step 1: Use the formula:

\[ GV = \frac{100}{20} = 5 \]

The Gait Velocity is 5 ft/s.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Total Distance Traveled (D) = 150 ft
Total Time of Walking (T) = 30 seconds

Step 1: Use the formula:

\[ GV = \frac{150}{30} = 5 \]

The Gait Velocity is 5 ft/s.
