Use this calculator to estimate the amount of fuel you'll use for your trip and its cost. Enter the distance, fuel economy, and fuel price to get the results.
To calculate the fuel consumption, use the formula:
\[ \text{Fuel Needed} = \left( \frac{\text{Distance}}{100} \right) \times \text{Fuel Economy} \]
To calculate the total cost, use:
\[ \text{Total Cost} = \text{Fuel Needed} \times \text{Fuel Price} \]
Let's say you are planning a trip of 295 kilometers, your car's fuel economy is 8 liters/100 km, and the fuel price is €1.60 per liter. The fuel needed would be:
\[ \text{Fuel Needed} = \left( \frac{295}{100} \right) \times 8 = 2.95 \times 8 = 23.6 \, \text{liters} \]
The total cost would be:
\[ \text{Total Cost} = 23.6 \, \text{liters} \times 1.60 \, \text{€/liter} = 37.76 \, \text{€} \]
