Formula

The formula to calculate the Total Grain Loss (TGL) is:

\[ TGL = HA \times GLA \]

Where:

Grain Loss: The quantity of grain that is not harvested and is instead lost to the environment during the harvesting process. This can occur due to various reasons such as mechanical inefficiencies, improper adjustment of harvesting equipment, or adverse weather conditions.
Harvested Area (HA): The total area of land from which the grain is harvested, measured in acres.
Grain Loss per Area (GLA): The amount of grain lost per unit area, measured in bushels per acre.

Let's say the harvested area is 100 acres and the grain loss per area is 2 bushels per acre. Using the formula:

\[ TGL = 100 \times 2 \]

We get:

\[ TGL = 200 \]

So, the total grain loss is 200 bushels.
