The formula to calculate the Home Plate Ratio (HPR) is:

\[ HPR = \frac{HPA}{TPA} \]

Where:

Home Plate Ratio (HPR): The proportion of a player's plate appearances that occur at home games.
Home Plate Appearances (HPA): The number of times a player appears at the plate during home games.
Total Plate Appearances (TPA): The total number of times a player appears at the plate during all games.

Let's say the number of home plate appearances (HPA) is 150 and the total number of plate appearances (TPA) is 600. Using the formula:

\[ HPR = \frac{150}{600} \]

We get:

\[ HPR = 0.25 \]

So, the home plate ratio is 0.25.
