$D$ is the Total Machine Depreciation ($)

What is Machine Value?

Machine value is the current worth of a machine after accounting for depreciation. It is calculated by subtracting the total depreciation from the original purchase price of the machine.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Original Machine Price ($OP$) = $10,000
Total Machine Depreciation ($D$) = $2,000

Using the formula:

\[ MV = 10000 - 2000 = 8000 \text{ dollars} \]

The Machine Value is $8,000.
