To calculate the Oil Water Ratio (OWR) from the percentage volumes of oil (O) and water (W):

What is Oil Water Ratio?

The Oil Water Ratio (OWR) describes the proportion of oil to water in a mixture. It is calculated by dividing the percentage volume of water by the percentage volume of oil.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Percentage Volume of Oil (\(O\)) = 40%
Percentage Volume of Water (\(W\)) = 60%

Using the formula:

\[ OWR = \frac{60}{40} = 1.5 \]

The Oil Water Ratio is 1.5.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Percentage Volume of Oil (\(O\)) = 30%
Percentage Volume of Water (\(W\)) = 70%

Using the formula:

\[ OWR = \frac{70}{30} \approx 2.33 \]

The Oil Water Ratio is approximately 2.33.
