The formula to calculate the Image Brightness (IB) is:

\[ \text{IB} = \text{L} \times \text{SG} \]

Where:

\( \text{IB} \) is the image brightness (lm/m²)
\( \text{L} \) is the projector lumens (lm)
\( \text{SG} \) is the screen gain (dimensionless)

What is Screen Gain?

Screen gain is a measure of how much a projection screen amplifies the light from a projector. A screen with a gain of 1.0 reflects the same amount of light as a standard whiteboard, while a screen with a higher gain reflects more light, resulting in a brighter image. Screen gain is important for determining the suitability of a screen in different lighting conditions and for various sizes of audiences.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Projector Lumens (L) = 3000 lm
Screen Gain (SG) = 1.5

Using the formula to calculate the Image Brightness:

\[ \text{IB} = 3000 \times 1.5 = 4500 \text{ lm/m²} \]

The Image Brightness is 4500 lm/m².
