To calculate the Series Current (Is):

\[ Is = \frac{Vs}{Rs} \]

Where:

\(Is\) is the Series Current in amps
\(Vs\) is the Voltage across the Resistor in volts
\(Rs\) is the Resistance at each Resistor in ohms

What is Series Current?

Series current is the current that flows through a series circuit, where the same current flows through all components. The series current is calculated by dividing the voltage across the resistor by the resistance of the resistor.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Voltage Across the Resistor (\(Vs\)) = 12 volts
Resistance at Each Resistor (\(Rs\)) = 4 ohms

Using the formula:

\[ Is = \frac{12}{4} = 3 \text{ amps} \]

The Series Current is 3 amps.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Voltage Across the Resistor (\(Vs\)) = 24 volts
Resistance at Each Resistor (\(Rs\)) = 6 ohms

Using the formula:

\[ Is = \frac{24}{6} = 4 \text{ amps} \]

The Series Current is 4 amps.
