What is Shaft Tolerance?

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the nominal shaft diameter is 50mm and the International Tolerance grade is 0.02mm.

\[ T = (D + IT) - D = (50 + 0.02) - 50 = 0.02 \, mm \]

The shaft tolerance is 0.02mm.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the nominal shaft diameter is 100mm and the International Tolerance grade is 0.05mm.

\[ T = (D + IT) - D = (100 + 0.05) - 100 = 0.05 \, mm \]

The shaft tolerance is 0.05mm.
