To calculate the Shift Premium (SP):

\[ SP = SPR \times HW \]

Where:

$SP$ is the Shift Premium ($)
$SPR$ is the shift premium rate ($/hr)
$HW$ is the hours worked (hrs)

What is Shift Premium?

The Shift Premium (SP) is the additional pay an employee receives for working shifts that are outside of the standard working hours. It is calculated by multiplying the shift premium rate by the number of hours worked.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Shift Premium Rate (SPR) = $2.50/hr
Hours Worked (HW) = 8 hrs

Using the formula:

\[ SP = 2.50 \times 8 = 20.00 \]

The Shift Premium is $20.00.
