Formula

To calculate the Number of Slates Needed (C):

\[ C = \frac{A}{S} \]

Where:

\(C\) is the Number of Slates Needed
\(A\) is the Area to be covered in square feet
\(S\) is the Size of each Slate in square feet

Note: Since you cannot have a fraction of a slate, always round up to the nearest whole number.

Size of each slate (\(S\)) = 18 square feet

Using the formula:

\[ C = \frac{450}{18} = 25 \]
