The formula to calculate the wind correction angle (WCA) is:
\[ WCA = \sin^{-1} \left( \frac{WS \cdot \sin(AWA)}{TAS} \right) \]
Where:
A wind correction angle is an angle that an aircraft should adjust its flight to when under the force of the wind in order to hold the same true bearing as if there was no wind at all.
For example, if the wind speed (WS) is 20 knots, the acute wind angle (AWA) is 30 degrees, and the true airspeed (TAS) is 150 knots, the wind correction angle (WCA) can be calculated as follows:
\[ WCA = \sin^{-1} \left( \frac{20 \cdot \sin(30)}{150} \right) \approx 3.82 \text{ degrees} \]
