To calculate the ADU Cost ($ADUc$):

\[ ADUc = A \times PV \times 0.85 \]

Where:

$ADUc$ is the ADU Cost ($)
$A$ is the Area (ft²)
$PV$ is the Price per Square Foot ($/ft²)

What is ADU Cost?

An ADU cost is defined as the total cost to construct an accessory dwelling unit. These units are built on single-family lots but are separate from the main house. The cost of these units is typically 85% of the per square foot value of the property.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Area ($A$) = 500 ft²
Price per Square Foot ($PV$) = $100/ft²

Using the formula:

\[ ADUc = 500 \times 100 \times 0.85 = 42500 \]

The ADU Cost is $42,500.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Area ($A$) = 750 ft²
Price per Square Foot ($PV$) = $120/ft²

Using the formula:

\[ ADUc = 750 \times 120 \times 0.85 = 76500 \]

The ADU Cost is $76,500.
