Calculate Frost Point

Formula

The formula to calculate the Frost Point (FP) is:

\[ FP = T - \frac{(100 - RH)}{5} \]

Where:

What is Frost Point?

A frost point is the temperature at which water vapor in the air will start to condense and form frost. It is similar to the dew point, but instead of forming liquid dew, the moisture in the air freezes into frost. The frost point is always lower than the dew point and is dependent on the current temperature and humidity levels.

Example Calculation

Consider an example where:

Using the formula to calculate the Frost Point:

\[ FP = 10 - \frac{(100 - 80)}{5} = 6 \text{ °C} \]

This means that the frost point for this example is 6 °C.
