To calculate the Motor Load (L):

$L = \left( \frac{P_m}{P_i} \right) \times 100$

Where:

$L$ is the Motor Load (%)
$P_m$ is the Measured Three-Phase Power (kW)
$P_i$ is the Input Power at Full-Rated Load (kW)

What is Motor Load?

A motor load is defined as the ratio of the measured power to the full-rated power that a motor is running at. This ratio can be expressed in percentage by multiplying it by 100 as seen in the formula above.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Measured Three-Phase Power ( $P_m$ ) = 50 kW
Input Power at Full-Rated Load ( $P_i$ ) = 60 kW

Using the formula:

$L = \left( \frac{50}{60} \right) \times 100 = 83.33\%$

The Motor Load is 83.33%.
