The formula to calculate the occupancy rate index (ORI) is:

$ORI = \frac{OCC}{C-OCC}$

Where:

Occupancy Rate Index: The ratio of the occupancy of your hotel compared to that of a competitor or set of competitors.

Let's say your hotel's occupancy percentage (OCC) is 75% and your competitor's occupancy percentage (C-OCC) is 60%. Using the formula:

$ORI = \frac{75}{60}$

We get:

$ORI = 1.25$

So, the occupancy rate index is 1.25.
