The formula to calculate the P/A Ratio is:

\[ \frac{P}{A} \]

Where:

P/A Ratio: The ratio of the perimeter of a shape to its area, a dimensionless quantity.
Perimeter (P): The total length of the boundary of a shape.
Area (A): The amount of space enclosed within the boundary of a shape.

Let's say the perimeter is 20 units and the area is 5 square units. Using the formula:

\[ \frac{20}{5} \]

We get:

\[ 4 \]

So, the P/A Ratio is 4 units^-1.
