What is a WHAP Score?

A WHAP score is the result of the AP World History exam, which assesses a student’s understanding of world history and their ability to think historically. Scores on the AP exam range from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest possible score. Colleges and universities may grant credit or advanced placement for scores of 3, 4, or 5.

Example Calculation

\[ \text{Total WHAP Score} = 40 + 7 + 5 + 4 = 56 \]

Based on hypothetical thresholds, this total score would correspond to a WHAP score of 3 out of 5.
